I was on my way back into the city and figured I’d see if there was a convenient bus. Turns out there was a train 10 minutes away, leaving in 4 🤔. I arrive at the platform as the train is rolling away. The driver is doing some hand motions and I was prepared for some good Italian shaming, but instead realized the driver was asking if I was trying to catch his train! Gave him a 👍 and he slams on the brakes (which isn’t all that dramatic for a train). Hanging halfway off the platform, the driver hops out of the cab to grab the door for me. Thank you Italian train man 🚂.
I’ve been enjoying a little Italian vacation with the Schofields. It’s nice not to have to worry about any logistics. I’ve been very happy with the new lens, even though the focus can be a little finicky. It’s a fixed focal length so I don’t have to worry about zooming anymore.
On my way out, I ended up going through that gate into the ministry of forestry or whatever, I slowly started the get the feeling I wasn’t supposed to be there, so after I bit I unwound my path and went on the correct road around the outside. It was there that I noticed the military, keep out, signs on the wall below the barbed wire in the place I had just been. Whoops!
I wish I could just walk up to people in the street and take pictures of them but in our society that is considered to be weird. So I have to be real stealthy. Fortunately other animals, while skiddish, aren’t nearly as judgemental.
I need to get better at cutting photos, but enjoy the last few days of pics 🙃
